  • September: Croswell-Schulte began an engagement of a major engineerinh firm (operating mainly in the upper mid-west and Rocky Mountain states) to evaluate their GIS practice and make recommendations on improvement and expansion of their GIS services, organizational development, and growth.

  • January: Croswell-Schulte was selected to participate on a consulting team with Voyage Advisory to provide design and development services for an integrated business management system for a prominent business management consulting firm

2019

  • January: As a subcontractor to BerryDunn, Croswell-Schulte was selected to carry out a “GIS Healthcheck” of the GIS program for the City of Broken Arrow OK.
  • February:  Croswell-Schulte is participating on a team organized by Verint to provide oversight and management support for a Proof-of-Concept for a financial management and accounting (FMA) system for the North Dakota Department of Trust Lands.
  • February: Croswell-Schulte has been contracted to provide ongoing technical and management support and advisory services for the Louisville/Jefferson County Information Consortium (LOJIC). Work includes support for the LOJIC Policy Board and manager as well as project management services for a major technical GIS architecture migration to an ArcGIS Enterprise environment.
  • March: Croswell-Schulte has been participating as a member of a BerryDunn consulting team in an information technology needs evaluation and planning project for the Metro Tacoma (WA) Parks District.
  • April: Croswell-Schulte is providing support (as part of a Verint team) in preparation of specifications and an RFP for a Land Management system for the North Dakota Department of Trust Lands.

  • February: Croswell-Schulte was selected to provide technical and management oversight and support in a major technical enhancement of the enterprise GIS platform for the Louisville/Jefferson County (KY) Information Consortium (LOJIC).
  • March: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, initiated work on a revised of edition of the successful 2009 book, The GIS Management Handbook. Publication of the new edition is expected in early 2019.

  • February: Croswell-Schulte began working on a consulting team, with EI Technologies, to provide management support, oversight, and advisory services for a major GIS implementation effort for El Salvador’s electric distribution utility company, Delsur.
  • June: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte conducted a workshop on GIS Project Planning and Management Best Practices for the Ohio Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA)
  • October: Croswell-Schulte conducted trainiing on the use of Microsoft Project software for the Louisville/Jefferson County Information Consortium (LOJIC)
  • October: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte began a project with Major Oak Consulting involving an evaluation of business process work flows and technical factors impacting use of legal entity data for the North Dakota Workforce Safety and Insurance agency.

2016

  • January: Croswell-Schulte began a project as a member of a consultant team with BerryDunn for services to the City of Homestead FL. The project involves evaluation of the City’s land development review, inspection, and code enforcement business processes and organizational responsibilities with recommendations for organizational and technology improvements.
  • January: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte, was instructor for URISA’s certified workshop on GIS Program Management at a training event organized by the New England URISA Chapter in Boston.
  • January: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte began his term as the elected President of the URISA Cumberland Chapter.
  • February: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte was a moderator of the 2-day leadership summit of the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP) and assisted the group with strategic planning and action decisions.
  • April: Croswell-Schulte was selected to provide services, as part of a BerryDunn consultant team in the evaluation of requirements and implementation support for an infrastructure asset management system for the City of College Station, TX.
  • May: Croswell-Schulte was retained as a member of a project team to review implementation approach and services for the City of Santa Fe NM utility billing system and preparation of recommendations on approach for completing the implementation work.
  • June: Croswell-Schulte was engaged as a member of consultant team (organized by Berry Dunn) to assess functional and operational needs, define business processes, and prepare a plan for a work order/asset management system for the City of Farmers Branch TX.
  • June: Croswell-Schulte is working with EI Technologies to evaluate work flow and business process improvements for application and issuance of passports and travel visas by the Indian Government Consulate General (Houston TX).
  • July: Croswell-Schulte is working with a Berry Dunn consulting team to prepare requirements, technical and functional specifications, and support procurement for infrastructure asset management systems for the City of College Station TX.
  • August: Croswell-Schulte Provided support for preparation of user acceptance testing as part of the implementation of a new utility billing system for the City of Surprise AZ.
  • August: Croswell-Schulte joined a team led by Major Oak Consulting providing services for the State of North Dakota Department of Trust Lands (DTL). Work involves evaluation of business process evaluation and identification of improvements, preparation of system and operational requirements, and strategy for a new system to support key business areas—land management, financial accounting, grant administration, and unclaimed property management.
  • October: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte, was instructor for URISA’s certified workshop on GIS Program Management at the annual GIS-Pro Conference in Toronto ON.
  • November: Croswell-Schulte joined a consulting team providing an evaluation and recommendations on IT staffing and governance for the Loudoun County (VA) Department of Information Technology.

2015

  • January: Croswell-Schulte is working as a business analyst with BerryDunn on a consulting project to assist the City of Tucson in an assessment and specifications for a new system that supports land- development related planning, permitting, inspection, code enforcement, and related business areas. Project includes documentation of needs, technical and functional specifications, and support in procurement of software vendor products and implementation services.
  • February: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte prepared a special publication based on recent survey work on the status, governance, and best practices of multi-organizational GIS programs. Publication is available from URISA (click URISA link for free publication download).
  • April: Croswell-Schulte is a member of a consulting team, with BerryDunn, for the City of Philadelphia Municipal Addressing project. Work includes evaluation of current data standards, systems, and business processes and recommendations for a citywide standard and maintenance environment.
  • May: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte was a moderator of the 2-day leadership summit of the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP) and assisted the group with strategic planning and action decisions.
  • May: Croswell-Schulte is on a consultant team evaluating current systems, standards and business processes for assigning and maintaining address and property data and its use in multiple IT applications for the City of Philadelphia. Recommendations will be developed for a Citywide standard and implementation of a unified address and real property data management environment.
  • September: Croswell-Schulte was selected for two related projects with the City of Rio Rancho NM: a) management audit, cost-benefit evaluation, and planning for expansion of the City’s enterprise GIS program and b) evaluation of business needs and specifications to implementation of an infrastructure asset management (for tracking condition, operational status, and maintenance actions on transportation and utility infrastructure.
  • September: Croswell-Schulte was selected as a member of a consultant team with BerryDunn providing services for Outagamie County WI. Work includes evaluating the County’s current workflows and systems supporting plan, permit, licensing, and inspection business process preparation of specifications for new enterprise software and supporting in implementation.
  • October: Croswell-Schulte was selected as a member of a consultant team with BerryDunn evaluating business needs and specifications for city public safety (police, fire, EMS) emergency dispatch, response, and records management for the City of Sioux Falls SD and Minnehaha County. The Project includes assistance in software vendor selection and implementation support.
  • October: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte, was instructor for URISA’s certified workshop on GIS Program Management at the State of Kentucky GIS Conference in Owensboro, KY (sponsored by the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals-KAMP).
  • October: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte was an invited instructor at the GeoAlberta Conference in Edmonton—teaching a conference workshop on “Project Management Practices and Use of Microsoft Project Software”. Mr. Croswell also made a presentation on the URISA GMI-GIS Capability Maturity Model (GISCMM).
  • November: Croswell-Schulte was selected by the Louisville/Jefferson County Information Consortium (LOJIC) to provide support to the LOJIC Policy Board in key decisions on revisions to the LOJIC organizational structure, governance, and management practices.

2014

  • January: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte was selected as a member of a US AID project team in Liberia to evaluate needs and design a GIS and IT system to support Government of Liberia organizations in managing natural resource concessions and other land management applications.

  • April: Croswell-Schulte was selected as a member of a consulting team to evaluate needs, prepare specifications, and provide procurement support for a new land development, licensing, and permitting system for the Village of Oak Park, IL
  • May: Croswell-Schulte was selected as a member of a Berry Dunn consulting team to examine workflows and requirements, prepare specifications, and provide procurement support for Land Management, Code Enforcement and Permitting System Replacement effort to support land development work of multiple County Departments and participating municipalities in the County.
  • June: Croswell-Schulte is providing consulting services in a team with Major Oak Consulting to examine needs, prepare specifications, and support implementation of GIS in the Ohio Gas Company.
  • July: Croswell-Schulte was selected, in a team with Major Oak Consulting, to provide GIS consulting services to a group of organizations Cuyahoga County OH. The project is examining requirements and opportunities and defining a path for implementation of a multi-organization shared GIS services collaboration.

2013

  • January: Croswell-Schulte was selected as a team member, with Esri, in an enterprise GIS assessment and planning project for the City of Rochester NY.
  • March-April: Croswell-Schulte‘s President, Peter Croswell participated, on behalf of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), in a NASA-sponsored National Interest Panel to review the status and make recommendations on continuation of NASA’s Earth Science satellite missions
  • April: Croswell-Schulte was selected, by the City of Winnipeg MB, to carry out a GIS assessment and preparation of strategic plan for the City’s Water and Waste Department.
  • April: Croswell-Schulte will be participating as a team member with lead contractor BerryDunn in an IT assessment and planning project with Glynn County GA.
  • May: Croswell-Schulte was selected, with a consultant team led by EMH&T on a project to design and development a GIS-enabled engineering document management system for the Western Kentucky University Facilities Management division.
  • May: Croswell-Schulte, in partnership with JRW Services Corp., is participating in two projects with the Indiana and the Pennsylvania Women Infant Children (WIC) Programs. These projects involve review,feasibility evaluation, technical specifications, and planning for implementation of WIC MIS and EBT systems.

2012

  • January-April: Croswell-Schulte‘s President, Peter Croswell, participated as a member of a URISA-sponsored work group to develop a Geospatial Management Competency Model (GMCM) for the US Dept. of Labor.
  • May: Croswell-Schulte, in partnership with GeoPlanning Services, was selected, by the State of Wisconsin to conduct and assessment and prepare a business plan for statewide aerial imagery.
  • June: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte was a participating author in a new book, Foundations of URISA and GIS, recently published by the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association.
  • August: Croswell-Schulte, in partnership with GeoPlanning Services was selected, by the State of South Carolina Information Technology Management Office to conduct a statewide IT assessment and strategic plan preparation.
  • September: Croswell-Schulte was selected, as part of a team assembled by Michael Baker Jr., Inc. for the state of New Jersey GIS term contract.
  • November: Peter Croswell of Croswell-Schulte was included in a project team, led by Berry Dunn Inc. and selected to carry out an IT assessment and plan for the City of Louisville CO.

2011

  • February: Croswell-Schulte, in partnership with Telstar, Inc. was selected, by the State of Idaho, Department of Administrative Services, as one of several qualifying firms to provide a range IT design, planning,development and project management services.
  • March: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, conducted URISA’s GIS Program Management Workshop at the 2011 Intermountain URISA ChapterConference, Pocatello, ID.
  • March: Croswell-Schulte in partnership with JRW Services Corp. was selected by the State of Oregon Department of Human Services to provide technology assessment and planning support for Web-based migration of IT system supporting the state’s WIC program (a USDA program for food assistance to low income families).
  • April: Croswell-Schulte initiated work in collaboration with GeoTechVision Enterprises (Jamaica) to provide consulting services to the NV GEBE utility company of the Dutch Windward Islands. Work includes needs assessment, planning, and design work for GIS and SCADA supporting water and electric utility services.
  • April: Croswell-Schulte was selected to carry out a comprehensive GIS needs assessment, technical and organizational design, and to prepare strategic and implementation plans for the City of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
  • May: Croswell-Schulte was selected to provide business planning support for the preparation of a business plan for development of a multi-state (Idaho and Montana) geodetic control reference center and a high accuracy GNSS base station network. Project is being managed by the GIS Training and Research Center at Idaho State University in collaboration with other state and federal agencies in Idaho and Montana.
  • July: Croswell-Schulte is a member of a project team, lead by Planning Communities (Raleigh) and GeoPlanning Services in a project with the Florida DOT for the preparation of a business plan for state wide orthoimagery development and sharing.
  • August: Croswell-Schulte was selected, by collaboration of Idaho state universities (U of I, ISU, Boise State U) to provide facilitation and consulting services for the preparation of a strategic implementation plan for Cyber infrastructure development. This is a National Science Foundation sponsored effort to enhance information technology systems and tools and their application for research purposes.
  • December: Croswell-Schulte in partnership with JRW Services Corp. was selected by the Washington DC Department of Health to conduct a feasibility analysis and provide planning support the District‘s WIC EBT system.

2010

  • March: Croswell-Schulte was selected, in a team led by GeoPlanning Services, LLC, by the State of Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, to provide GIS consulting services supporting work under federal NSDI CAP grants. The work includes development of a state wide GIS Business Plan and a marketing strategy supporting use and stewardship of the Michigan Geographic Framework (MGF) database.
  • April: Croswell-Schulte was hired by the Idaho Geospatial Office to provide consulting support for the planning and implementation of stewardship practices for the Public Safety Framework data theme. This work is one part Idaho’s development of the statewide spatial data infrastructure program (ISDI).
  • June: Croswell-Schulte was selected to provide consulting services in support of the Idaho Spatial Data Infrastructure (ISDI) to prepare business plans for the development and operation of Regional GIS Resource Centers (RRC) that will support GIS users in different regions of the state.
  • July: Croswell-Schulte was hired as a subcontractor for the firm Meyer Hill Lynch, to provide support for GIS database improvements for the Wood County OH, Auditor’s Office. Work includes and evaluation of the current parcel database, development of specifications for data quality improvements, preparation of an RFP and support for procurement of parcel database improvement services.

  • April: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, conducts URISA’s GIS Program Management Workshop for the West Virginia Association of Geospatial Professionals in Flatwoods, WV
  • May: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, in association with Kessey Dewitt Publications and URISA, has completed a comprehensive book on GIS management, The GIS Management Handbook. See www.urisa.org/gisbookorder
  • June: Croswell-Schulte was hired to provide technical and project management assistance to support a work group organized by the Idaho Geospatial Clearinghouse, University of Idaho, to carry out design, continued development, and long-term stewardship for a statewide transportation database. This work is supported through a recently approved FGDC CAP grant.
  • July: Croswell-Schulte was selected to provide consulting services for GIS planning for the state of West Virginia. Croswell-Schulte personnel will support the WV GIS Coordinator and the broader statewide GIS community to prepare a a strategic and business plan to guide future GIS development and coordination
  • August: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, conducted URISA’s GIS Program Management Workshop for the Metroplex Arc User Group (MAUG) in Denton, TX.
  • September: The American Water Works Service Company hired Croswell-Schulte to provide consulting services in the preparation of standard specifications and an RFP for GIS data conversion and proposal evaluation procedures.The goal is establish nationwide consistency in GIS development among American Water’s state operations.
  • September: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, conducts URISA’s GIS Program Management Workshop for the Kentucky Geospatial Forum sponsored by the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals, Frankfort, KY
  • October: Croswell-Schulte was hired as a subcontractor for the firm MeyerHillLynch, to provide support for GIS implementation for the Ottawa County OH, Sanitary Engineering Dept. Work includes preparation of an implementation plan and GIS management policies, utility (water and sewer) data conversion specifications and RFP, oversight of the data conversion process, and support in the set-up of hardware, software,and GIS applications
  • December: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, provided an invited presentation, “GIS Data Models for Water and Sewer Utilities”for the Water Distribution Workshop sponsored by the Operator Training Committee of Ohio, Columbus, OH.

2008

  • January: Croswell-Schulte is retained by PlanGraphics, Inc. to provide support for the City of Rochester Hills, MI records management project(RAMP). Includes technical and organizational design and implementation support for document management technology and records management policies and procedures
  • February: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, conducts URISA’s GISProgram Management Workshop at the 2008 Alaska Surveying and Mapping Conference in Anchorage
  • February: With the GIS development company SWOVA, Croswell-Schulte is selected to provide database evaluation and design services for the Northern Kentucky Area Planning Commission
  • March: Peter Croswell, President of Croswell-Schulte, conducts URISA’s GIS Program Management Workshop at the 2008 URISA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Conference in Mount Laurel, NJ
  • March: Croswell-Schulte is approved as an ESRI Business Partner
